Knutsford Heritage Centre was built on the site of a 17th century, timber framed building of which the present building is a reconstruction. It provides a source of information on the town's history and is home to Knutsford's 53 sq. metre Millennium Tapestry.
The Centre shop offers souvenirs of a visit to the town as well as books, maps and free literature on history, outdoor activities, what to see and where to go whilst in Knutsford. The Centre houses a permanent exhibition, with exhibits and a video on the story of Knutsford, detailing the towns famous names, areas, associations and periods. The Gallery Exhibition Centre, a separate building to the rear of the Centre, presents a changing array of exhibitions and events.
