Delve into the history of the mill towns by joining guided and self guided walks around Leek, Macclesfield, Congleton and Bollington which will open your eyes to the stories that are etched into the fabric of the houses, churches, mills and monuments. Join one of the monthly themed walks around Congleton, from Congleton Museum, hear about the history of the town, its people and its architecture and indulge in a delicious cream tea included in the price.
Come and learn from the experts, pick up a new skill or discover your own hidden talents. Experiment with colour and texture. Try your hand at felt making, weaving, knitting, crocheting and explore your creative side. Visit The Threshing Barn, which holds various courses throughout the spring and summer months to suit adults and children. Come along to The Potters Barn, which not only has textile related workshops but also glass making, longbow making, stone carving and silver smithing. Learn to knit at Fibre and Clay, at one of their regular workshops designed for all levels of experience, from absolute beginners to knowledgeable knitters.
