Spinning using a variety of techniques and fibres with Dee Sayce

This workshop is for those who already know how to spin, on a spindle or a spinning wheel. Learn and experiment with a variety of techniques and fibres to produce wonderful original yarn to use in your knitting, crochet and weaving.

Spin, card, add slubs, overspin and ply different fibres, fabrics and other materials together to create interesting yarns to producing textured yarns.

Examine different fibres and discover their characteristics, experiment with different animal fleeces and vegetable fibres including wool, alpaca, cotton and flax.

Try using a variety of spinning equipment, drum carder, skein winders etc. and discover how to make the most use out of them, and how to improvise if you don’t have them at home.
